To graduate from HAFS, the student must be currently enrolled and have reported at least the minium required 180 days of attendance before graduation is official and a diploma can be issued. Issuance of a diploma is optional.
When your student is ready to graduate, submit your final attendance and choose "graduate" as the grade level. After submitting the final attendance, if they are the only student enrolled, please go the withdrawal tab to formally withdraw. If you have other students enrolled, please simply send me an email with the graduating student's name and date of graduation. If you'd like, you may order a diploma (below) and/or a graduation verifcation letter (from the verification documents tab).

![]() Diplomas are only available to currently enrolled students of HAFS who can show proof of 180 days attendance of school. Paper diplomas are not necessary for graduation, they are simply for your records, or if you need to show proof of graduation. Whether you’d like a paper diploma or not is up to you, but regardless, if your child is ready to graduate please inform me via email so that I may remove them from enrollment. If they are your only student currently enrolled in HAFS, please use the "Withdraw" link to formally withdraw, even if you do not order a diploma. Note about diplomas from the Florida Department of Education: “The Florida Department of Education does not accredit, regulate, approve, or license private high schools. Additionally, the Florida Department of Education does not officially recognize any of the various agencies that accredit private schools. Section 1002.42, Florida Statutes, requires K-12 private schools to register with the department by completing an annual survey each year and explicitly provides that submitting annual survey data and being listed in the directory of private schools should not be used by any private school to imply approval or accreditation by the state. There are many organizations with widely variant quality standards and program requirements that accredit private schools. Requests for information about the accreditation of a specific school should be directed to the school staff or its designated accrediting agency. The acceptance of diplomas from private schools will be subject to the requirements of the receiving educational institution or employer.” “For private schools, accreditation is not required and is achieved by the school’s adopting and maintaining the academic standards prescribed by an independent accrediting association, usually affiliated with the school’s religion or educational philosophy. There are many accrediting organizations for private schools and many private schools that are not accredited at all." |
If you would like to order a diploma, please use the "Buy Now" link above. After payment you will be redirected to the order form page. If you are not redirected, please let me know by forwarding your payment confirmation to me and I'll send you the link to the form.
It is wise to check with the college, university, or prospective employers to determine whether or not they accept diplomas and transcripts from a specific private school. Requests for information about the acceptance of credits from a specific private school for post-secondary education admittance should be directed to the local community college or university admissions office. NOTE** We are NOT an ACCREDITED school. If you are in need of an accredited diploma, then HAFS is NOT the right school for you. That being said, it is my experience that most colleges and universities do not require the diploma to come from an accredited school. It is however, my suggestion that you investigate prospective schools early, certainly before entering your senior year of high school, and then make the appropriate educational decisions based upon your findings.
