“We can get too easily bogged down in the academic part of homeschooling, a relatively minor part of the whole, which is to raise competent, caring, literate, happy people.”
― Diane Flynn Keith

* With the influx of new enrollments for the school year I have been inundated with requests to send letters of enrollment verification to schools around the state. I would like to take this opportunity to let you all know that in no way is it a legal obligation for you to inform anyone of your child’s enrollment anywhere. You simply tell them you are withdrawing them with the intent to homeschool. It is none of their business where or how they are educated once removed from that school.
These schools are scaring parents into thinking their children will be considered truant, which is not the case at all. Yes, we are a private school, and yes, our students are considered private school students, but technically you are home educating.
For the ease of transition, please tell the schools from which you are withdrawing that you are doing so with the intent to homeschool and request the records for yourself in you’d like. They are under legal obligation to allow you access to your child’s records. Please refer to Florida State Statutes 1002.22 and as always, if you are ever questioned by authorities all you have to do is give them my phone number.
If you are enrolling multiple children, please fill out a separate form for each child.
