Hillcrest Academy Free School was founded in March of 2010. HAFS is a Department of Education registered and recognized non-profit private school in the state of Florida, and is in compliance with the following state private school statutes 1002.42(2)(b), 1012.32, 1002.01,1003.23(2), 1003.22(1)(2), 1003.01(13),1003.21(1). Enrollment in HAFS legally meets the compulsory attendance laws of Florida. Florida DOE #5568. Our office is located in Escambia County, Florida, school district number 01650. Our school district code number is 57-5568.

HAFS students reside throughout the state and are taught primarily by their parents. As a parent/student of HAFS you have the freedom to choose what curriculum best meets the needs of your family. Many of our students use online curriculum which includes FLVS. We are a “not for profit school”. Non-Profit incorporation number/Division of Corporations: N01000002853. HAFS is NOT a 501.c school. FYI There are 3 options in the Florida Statutes for families who wish to educate their children at home. All 3 options legally meet the state’s compulsory attendance laws.
